PATHUM THANI 22 APRIL 2015 - More than 200,000 monks and novices from every region of Thailand as well as and monk visitors from 12 countries and lay Buddhists from Thailand and overseas travelled to the Dhammakaya Temple in Pathum Thani province for a historic gathering to create “global-cooling effects” with prayer, meditation, and giving on the Earth Day 22 April 2015.

A participating monk gave an interviewed that he participates in this ceremony almost every year and when he saw lots of monks gathering together, he was overwhelming with joy because it showed the strength of Buddhism, so he would like to thank Luang Phaw Dhammajayo very much.

The Dattajeevo Maha Cetiya is being constructed with the contemporary Buddhist style and its shape similar to that of a lotus which is recognized as a symbol of the establishment of Buddhism and the enlightenment of Lord Buddha. The Cetiya is around 15 meters in height. It is located in the same land as the Kanchanaburi Youth Training Center which will be used for the moral training and meditation practice of monks, novices, laymen and youths who live in Kanchanaburi and nearby provinces.
